Among the great skateboarding events, the United Kingdom offers NASS Festival and Boardmasters Festival which will be held in summer. These are festivals filled with good music, extreme sports including contests in various skateboarding tricks, presentation of BMX skills, surfing, but also relaxing in the company of fellow adventurists.
NASS Festival - July 7th & 9th, 2017
NASS Festival combines top level pro BMX, skateboarding and inline extreme sports featuring multi-genre music and three days of great entertainment and fun. Besides, the festival includes even mini moto racing creating the full package of paradise for adrenaline junkies and music lovers. You can also relay in shisha lounges listening to some of the most popular bands of today.
NASS Festival 2017 will take place at the Bath & West Showground in Somerset, near Bristol from 6th to 9th July 2017. Every year this festival attracts thousands of skateboard and music fans across the UK and Europe, allowing them the possibility to express their creativity and individuality while enjoying action sports and live music.
According to available information, NASS Festival will headline Australian drum ‘n’ bass and electronic rock band, Pendulum. In addition, drum ‘n’ bass DJ duo Sigma will also appear on the main stage, as well as Gentleman’s Dub Club from Leeds, My Nu Leng, TQD, DJ Zinc, Randall and Sir Spyro. Many acts are soon to be announced.
This year´s festival will feature a 15ft Vert Ramp - the tallest in Europe, but also titles in pro park competition, dirt jumps, street sports and public courses and ramps.
Furthermore, the festival is also open to street artists who are invited to paint across the festival, that way completing an extraordinary and energetic weekend.
Boardmasters - August 9th & 13th, 2017
Boardmasters Festival is another major festival in the UK which combines the best music and sports action. The festival was first established in 1981, and over the time it became one of the most iconic skateboard events in the world. It is a 5-day event located across two fantastic locations in Cornwall. The first one is the surfing mecca of the UK - Fistral Beach in Newquay where visitors can watch the famous International Surf Competitions, while the other location is Watergate Bay, where these adrenaline junkies can come to watch live music. Besides, there are plenty of other possibilities for all those who visit festivals such as the Beach Bar and BBQ with the great food, drinks, and DJ sets. Furthermore, the party continues into the night with Boardmasters After Parties held at clubs around the town centre.
However, the main attractions are the Pro Skate and BMX competitions which allow you the chance to enjoy some of the best tricks in extreme sports. In addition, there is the Surf Village, Cornish Market with local delights, as well as Surf Art, which provides photography and film sessions. You can also relax at the Wellbeing Area or the On Site Eco Spa. The festival also offers Luxury Camping and Glamping which provides a unique experience.
Recently, Boardmasters festival announced huge headliners for 2017, such as indie pop legends Two Door Cinema Club, awesome Jamiroquai and eccentric, folktronic trio Alt-J. The tickets are already available on their website. The price of the ticket changes and the earlier you order your tickets, the cheaper they will be.
Besides, there are also 16 additional acts such as punk band Slaves; singer and songwriter Jake Bugg; dance icon Andy C; Cumbrian indie pop band Wild Beasts; dance performers Patrick Topping and Becky Hill; legendary DJ Roger Sanchez among others.
